Jacqueline Louise (Moore) Romeo

Jacqueline Louise (Moore) Romeo, age 92, passed away peacefully on
April 20, 2021, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in 1928 in Flagstaff,
Arizona to Fred and Mabel Moore, and had one brother, Fred.

She attended Flagstaff High School and later attended some college
courses with the goal of becoming a teacher. She married James Albert
("Al") Schermann in 1948 and they had five children: Tom, Jim, Mike,
Mary Lou, and Chris. In 1963, the family relocated to Tempe. Jackie
was employed for several years at Motorola.

Jackie remarried in 1973 to Anthony Romeo and became stepmother to
Phil, David, and Marcy. Jackie and Tony eventually relocated to East
Mesa. Tony passed away in 1992 and Jackie continued to reside in East
Mesa. Jackie has three grandsons, two granddaughters, and eight great
grandchildren. She was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church
and participated in activities where she lived in the Mesa East Adult
Community.

Jackie was employed for 11 years as a greeter/ticket taker at Harkins
Superstition Springs Theater which became one of the highlights of her
week. Over the years, Jackie made many deep and lasting friendships.
Jackie never knew a stranger, and will be remembered for her
generosity, kindness, determination, and deep faith.

Visitation and Rosary will occur at Melcher Mission Chapel, 6625 E.
Main Street, Mesa, on Wednesday, April 28th, 5:00-8:00 pm, with Rosary
at 7:00, and then personal remembrances. A funeral Mass will be held
at 10:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 North Recker Road in
Mesa. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM at Queen of Heaven
Cemetery, 1500 E. Baseline Road in Mesa.
