A. G. Eckel dies

Asa Gail Eckel, a native of Prescott, died Sunday afternoon at Yavapai
Community Hospital.

Mr. Eckel was president of Eckel Construction Company of Prescott and
had built numerous public buildings in northern Arizona since he first
established his business in 1940.

Among the buildings his firm constructed in the Prescott area are u.s.
Forest Service Building, the Arizona Employment Security Building, both
branches of Valley National Bank, City of Prescott Fire Station as
well as the Police Training Building at the City Hall. The Eckel Firm
is one of the largest contracting companies in the northern part of the
stage and is well regarded in the construction industry.

Mr. Echo is a member of associated general contractors and a lifelong
member of the United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be
conducted at the United Methodist Church of Prescott at 10 a.m.,
Thursday, Aug. 16, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ruffner funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church of
Prescott.

Survivors are: his wife Ella of Prescott; one daughter, Mrs. E.
Colleen Dyer of Prescott; Three Sisters, Grace Holliday, of Prescott;
Margaret Despain of Central Point, Ore.; and Edith Moyer of Oklahoma;
two brothers; Paul of Las Vegas, Nevada; and E. F. Eckel of Estes Park,
Colo., also surviving are 11 grandchildren
