| Published in Today's News Herald on May 6, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Burnell F. Dacus, 85, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2021 in Lake Havasu City. Burnell was born July 6, 1935 in Denver to Jake and Ida Belle Dacus. After serving and honorably discharging from the U.S. Navy, he married Georgia on Aug. 10, 1957. Together they raised four sons, Byron, Lance, Darrell and Alan. Burnell attended and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting at Arizona State University, enjoying a lifelong and successful career in finance. Upon retirement, he started his own tax and accounting business. Burnell was a proud member of Elks Lodge 2399 and the Vagabond RV Club, where he enjoyed the company of his fellow members. Burnell enjoyed watching many sports as well as participating in local activities wherever he lived. Burnell and Georgia loved RVing and traveling with friends. His final passion was restoring a 1964 Ford Ranchero and what a beauty that was! He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Kermit. He is survived by his wife Georgia, sister Lavaun Willson, four sons, as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandsons whom he loved dearly. He made friends wherever he was and leaves behind many. Who could resist that special smile we will all miss! As per his request, no service will be held. |
