Shirley Ann Wachter
June 23, 1936 - May 11, 2021

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Shirley (Hershkowitz) Wachter, a loving mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 84.

Shirley was born on June 23, 1936, in Wickenburg, AZ to William and Sarah (Monte) Hershkowitz. On April 13, 1956, she married Bob Wachter. They raised a daughter, Roiann, and three sons, Robby, Dave, and Andy. She and Bob moved to Flagstaff in 1965 until she returned to Wickenburg after retiring from Safeway where she worked for over 30 years in both Wickenburg and Flagstaff.

Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially at the beach. She spent her retirement in her Wickenburg home visiting with relatives and watching the quail and rabbits from her back porch. She loved watching the deer come in for water, but not when they ate her flowers!

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her daughter Roiann, her brothers Junior, George, Richard, and Mack, two grandsons Bobby and Jimmy, and great-granddaughter Eleanor. She is survived by her sister, Joyce (Hershkowitz) Fields (husband Larry), her sons and daughters-in-law, Robby (Vicki), Dave (Heidi) and Andy (Samantha), her grandchildren, Bryan, Steven, DJ, Taryn, Robyn, Tristan, Trace, and Taylor, six great-grandchildren, and many loved nieces, nephews, friends, and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

A graveside service was performed at Wickenburg Cemetery on Saturday, May 15th. Please consider any donations to the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society.
