On April 30th, 2021, George Lynn Hagen went home to be with the Lord.
His ferocious faith and generous smile embraced many. He shared a love
of travel, cars, his dog Tiny, and Italy with his wife Carol, and
daughters, Laurah, Carmel, and Julia. God blessed him with unique
talents and gifts, among them an insatiable appetite to learn and
innovate.

Lynn was a serial entrepreneur and named inventor on twenty-nine
patents. He founded or served as an executive of several companies
including Osborne Computer, the pioneering maker of the first portable
computer; Axxess Technologies®, reinventor of key duplication for
retailers; Upper Deck®, a trading card and sports memorabilia company;
Taymac®, reinventor of electrical products; Keyworks®, consumer-
operated key duplication kiosks; and Tagworks®, laser-engraved pet
identification tags.

Lynn loved the challenge of multidimensional problem solving. A deep
strategic thinker who obsessively enjoyed learning, idea generation,
and the problem-solving process, he knew that the best ideas were born
from hard work. He understood that design was only done once concepts
were distilled to the point of a simplicity so elegant, a user would
think, "of course that's what you would do."

Lynn loved hiking the Brookbank Trail, driving around town with the
windows down and his dog by his side, and applying his creativity to
everyday problems, like finding the best and least known solution for
his daughter's poison ivy. He loved his friends, business partners,
family, and neighbors, and enjoyed telling them jokes and anecdotes
about his latest interests, often repeatedly. He died without ever
knowing how fast his daughter's prom dates drove his car, which is for
the best.

Lynn studied the Scriptures regularly and believed wholeheartedly that
'the Word of God is living and active' as Hebrews 4:12 teaches.

Preceded in death by his sister Karolynn Moody, mother Nadine Holm and
his father George Hagen. He is survived by his wife Carol Hagen, his
daughters Laurah Hagen, Carmel Hagen and husband Michael Rubenstein,
granddaughter Stella, daughter Julia Hagen, brother Brook Hagen, and
many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Quality Connections
Flagstaff at QualityConnections.org. A Celebration of Life will be
held this summer.
