| Published in Mohave Daily News Online on May 18, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Carol Jean Campion (Popp), passed away into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Fort Mohave, Arizona. Carol was born on February 11, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Antoinette (Kotecki) Popp. Carol graduated in 1961 from Clay High School, Oregon, Ohio. Immediately after graduation, Carol with her mother and younger sister left Toledo for Southern California. She joined the Catholic Youth Organization of a local parish through which she met Stephen "Steve" Campion, a native of Baltimore, Md. Carol and Steve were married on August 22, 1964. In 1966 Carol and Steve purchased a home in Southern Calif. where they lived for 40 years raising three beautiful children, Denise Antoinette, Nichole Marie and Gregory John with discipline, dignity, and love. Retirement saw Carol and Steve leave California in 2006 for Arizona and to become active parishioners with St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church parish, in Bullhead City. Carol was a longtime member of her parish Extraordinary Ministry of the Eucharist. Bringing Communion and scripture reading to her parish shut ins and was a parish Rosary Leader at the early Sunday Mass. Carol's secular activities included establishing, organizing, and leading the local HOA Bunco games and a lively participant in local Mah Jongg tournaments as well as various card and board games. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Antoinette Popp; and older brother, Jack Popp. Carol is survived by her husband, Steve; two daughters and two son-in- laws, Denise and Rod and Nichole and Jim; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Heather; older sisters, Marie and Louise, and younger sister, Christine; six grandsons, Wesley, Johnny, Steven, Nicholas, Codi and Tharyn; granddaughter, Abigail; along with three great- grandchildren, Levi John, Stevie Rose and Piper Jo. Crematory services were provided by Desert Lawn Funeral Home, Mohave Valley, Arizona. Funeral Mass will be presided over by Rev. Father Keith Kenney at 10 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Bullhead City, AZ., with a Rosary preceding the Mass at 9:30 am. Carol's heart of gold, generous soul, and compassion will be missed immensely. |
