Juell Lindy Barker passed away on 3 May, 2021, in Yuma, Arizona, at
the age of 91.

Juell, known to many as Lindy, was born on October 14, 1929, in Mount
Vernon, Illinois, the son of Juel Harvey Barker and Eva Fae (Wilson)
Barker. He grew up in Mount Vernon during the depression and World War
II. After graduating from Mount Vernon High School in 1947, Juell
served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955 as an electronics technician and
aircraft radio operator assigned to squadrons at Whidbey Island, WA;
Atsugi, Japan; and Okinawa, Japan.

In early 1955, Juell was introduced to Vera Dwernichuk on a blind date
in Vancouver, Canada, and they were married on November 19, 1955.
Juell and Vera remained happily married for the next 65 years until
his passing.

In January 1956, Juell began working for IBM, at first servicing
computers, and was steadily promoted to management and then to the
executive level before retiring in 1987. During that time, Juell and
Vera lived in Seattle, WA; Santa Monica, CA; North Hollywood, CA;
Claremont, CA; Ridgefield, CT; Le Vesinet, France; Mahopac, NY; and
Tokyo, Japan. They traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

In 1987, after 31 years working for IBM, Juell retired. For a dozen
years after retiring, Juell and Vera enjoyed traveling in the summer,
including spending many months in Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana. In the
winter, they lived in Minden, NV, and Yuma, AZ. For several months,
IBM brought Juell back as a contractor to work in Hong Kong. In 2000,
Juell and Vera built a permanent home in Wellton, AZ. Juell stayed
busy with a variety of hobbies, including gardening and fishing. Juell
and Vera also built a highly successful business in real estate
financing that is being carried on by their son Kevin.

Throughout his life, Juell enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid
hunter, fisher, RVer, and gardener. He will be remembered for his
thoughtful and encouraging nature, great storytelling, keen business
acumen, many close friendships, and always being ready to support his
family.

Clark and husband, Bill; son, Clay Barker and wife, Laura; son, Kevin
