William George Kohl, 93, passed away May 1, 2021, in Mesa, AZ.
William was born on June 9, 1927, in Youngstown, OH to Andrew and Mary
(Hromyak) Kohl. He was an Army Veteran in World War II, stationed in
the Phillipines. He retired from the United States Postal Service
where he was first employed as a mechanic, and then moved into the
position of a letter carrier, retiring in the late 1970s. He was also
a member of the American Legion since 1960.
Mr. Kohl was an avid golfer, full of life, and always telling jokes.
One of his favorites was telling people that when he played golf, he
always took two pair of pants in case he got "a hole in one!"
William is survived by his two sons, David William Kohl (Vanessa), and
Donald George Kohl, both of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren: Sean Kohl of
Sierra Vista, Aaron Kohl, Geoffrey Kohl, and Faith Kohl, of Atlanta,
GA; and two great grandchildren: Gage Kohl of Atlanta, GA, and
Sterling Kohl of Cambridgeshire, England. He was preceded in death by
his parents, and five brothers: John, Edward, Mike, Andrew, and Steve
Kohl; and five sisters: Katie, Helen, Martha, Mary, and Eleanor.
