Published in The Arizona Republic on May 25, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona >> Marilyn Ann Tigges << Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marilyn Tigges, passed away at home surrounded by her husband and children on May 17, 2021. Marilyn was born June 5, 1940 in Cherokee, Iowa, to John and Velma Laposky. She married Neal Tigges in 1959 and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary in January. Neal and Marilyn moved to Arizona in 1961 to make their future in Phoenix. They had 3 children. Marilyn was a homemaker while the kids were growing up. She was a Den Mother and Campfire Girls Leader. After the kids had grown and left home, she worked as a receptionist for the hotel industry. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide at Prince of Peace pre-school. She enjoyed the people she worked with and the children there. She also enjoyed loving and spoiling her many rescue dogs. Marilyn is survived by her husband Neal, children Gary (Cindy), Fay Winter (Bill), and Allen. She greatly loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Alicia Natwick (Evan), Aric, Taryn, and Nicholas. Her great granddaughter, Nora Natwick, was very special to her. No services are planned. Friends and family are invited to a memorial open house at her home, 6236 E. Corrine Dr. on June 5, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This would have been her 81st birthday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to cancer research organizations, Hospice of the Valley or Home Fur Good animal rescue.
