Jobita Del Rio (aka Jobie), 91, passed away in the afternoon on May
11, 2021. Jobie was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, while living in
Los Angeles for a few years. She loved to watch Western movies and
enjoyed dancing at the American Legion. She was a member of the
Women's Auxiliary for over 10 years. Jobie also enjoyed taking long
walks and cooking for family and friends. Many holidays were spent
together with family at her home. She was also a big sports fan. There
wasn't a time when she wasn't cheering on her favorite teams: the
Arizona Cardinals, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the A.S.U. Sun
Devils. One thing she is most admired for is her tenure at North High.
She worked with the cafeteria staff for over 26 years until the ripe
age of 86.
Preceding her in death is her daughter, Roberta Valdivia. She is
survived by her husband, Ray Del Rio, son Don Solomon and his wife,
Vicki Solomon, brother and sisters "Pyle" Robles, Chavela Woodard, and
Connie Sonoqui, grandchildren Lisa Valdivia, Carlos Valdivia and his
wife Sara Buss, Danielle Lyons, David Solomon and his wife Cristina,
and great granddaughter Allyson Jenner.
At her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please
make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
