Scottsdale - The world lost a very special person when Sandra Louise
Goreham passed away on May 2, 2021, from complications due to
Alzheimers Disease.

Sandra was born on July 19, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of
Robert Dale Hutchins and Grace Essex Hutchins. She was the first of 9
siblings. Sandra was educated in the Des Moines Public Education
System, culminating with graduation from North High School in June,
1953. She then sought higher education at Iowa State Teachers College
(now The University of Northern Iowa). She obtained a two year
teaching certificate and emarked on a remarkable teaching career in
several communities in the Des Moines area.

In the spring of 1957 Sandra decided to marry Fritz Goreham, a long
time friend from high school days. To Fritz it was a no brainer since
he had been in love with Sandra since 1951. Fritz and Sandra were
married on May 16, 1958 and enjoyed 63 wonderful years of marriage.

They first settled in Wellman, Iowa, where Sandra taught school to
support Fritz while he completed his studies at the University of Iowa
College of Law. Fritz graduated in June 1959 and they moved to
Montezuma, Iowa, where he practiced law with his grandfather, Clye
McFarlin. Sandra taught in Montezuma until they decided to move to
Arizona in 1963.

Sandra and Fritz have always resided in Scottsdale which meant that
all four children, Dale, Elizabeth (Betsy), Rebecca (Becky) and
Suzanne (Suzy) had the benefit of an exceptional education which was
prevalent in that era. Further proof was all four earned college
degrees. Sandra with her education background took pride in that fact.
That pride grew more when Becky graduated from Pepperdine University
College of Law.

In the mid 70's Sandra decided to enroll in Arizona State Univeristy
College of Education and graduated with honors in 1976. She then
resumed her teaching career and taught several years at Judson school
until it closed.

Sandra is survived by her husband Fritz, children Dale (Dana), Betsy,
Becky (Michael) Clouser and preceded in death by Suzy (Andrew) Caceres
in November 2020. Nine grandchildren, Abby, Evan, Emily and Austin
Goreham, Chase, Benjiman and Brooks Clouser and Christopher and Grace
Caceres. She was devoted to this extended family everyday of her
wonderful life!

She is also survived by her sister Mary (Hutchins) Passick, three
brothers, James, Dean and Rick, many cousins, nieces and nephews, all
which reside in the Des Moines, Iowa area.

Sandra always had her arms open to anyone in need. She never had an
ill word for anyone. She was was truly a special person who had an
extraordinary life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at 6pm.
