Lewis A. Franke COTTONWOOD Lewis Albert Franke died Dec. 24 in Rio 
Verde Health Care Center. He was 81. Mr. Franke was born Aug. 23, 1906, 
in Birmingham, Ala , moved to Arizona from Missouri in 1933 and has 
lived in Cottonwood since 1974. He was a self-employed carpenter, 
retiring in 1974. Mr. Franke was a member of the Benevolent Protective 
Elks Lodge No. 499 in Flagstaff. Services were today at 2 p.m. at the 
Westcott Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Valley View 
Cemetery in Clarkdale. Survivors include his wife, Nina; son Lewis 
Franke Jr., Holbrook; daughter Pat Jacobson, Cottonwood; three 
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
