| Published by Today's News Herald on Jul. 18, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Kenneth Roy Bourlier Sr. (Ken) age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 24th, 2021. He was born April 22, 1945 in Spokane Washington, to Lawrence Bourlier & Loretta May Tryon. He married Candace Lee Martien the mother of his children in the summer of 1964 in Gresham, Oregon. Ken moved his family to Lake Havasu City in the early 70's to help his family build some of the first homes in Lake Havasu City. Ken went later on started his own business Colorado River Construction INC where he continuing to build custom homes along the Colorado River in Lake Havasu City. Ken developed a love for boating early on in Portland Oregon where he would boat up and down the Columbian River in his flatbottom boat he called the Judge. Later he bought a family boat 1969 Sanger Flatbottom and would water ski up and down the Colorado River. He had a need for speed including competing as a Speed skier for many years. They traveled all over including Lake Tahoe & Long Beach to Catalina Island where he swore he skied over a shark. He enjoyed fun skiing with his best of friends the Three Amigos they would call themselves. Participating for years in the Polar Bear Ski event the first Saturday in January every year. They formed a club "The boat and ski club" Ken was a loyal dog lover, he loved spending hours teaching them tricks. He also enjoyed Elk hunting with his father and friends. Quad riding in Glamis and up in North Arizona. During his retirement years he moved up to Northern Arizona and took a job working for the Grand Canyon Railway. He enjoyed 5 years working there and became fascinated with trains building one spectacular train set of his own. Ken is survived by his children, Kenneth Bourlier Jr (Kim), Christina Martin (Ernie), sister Carolyn Finch, Grandchildren Ashley, Jocelyn, Brittany, Makenzie & Cassidy; Nephews William Whiting III, and Christopher Finch; 3 1/2 Great Grandchildren Ivee, Zane, Rylie; And his fur baby Cheyene. Arrangements were placed in the care of Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff Arizona. |
