Jerry L. Young of Holbrook, Arizona peacefully passed away surrounded
by his loving family on July 7, 2021 at his home in Holbrook. He was
73. Jerry was born on August 10, 1947 in Holbrook to his parents the
late, Joseph L. and Genavieve (Rhoton) Young.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jana Young of Holbrook; 4
daughters: Tara Young, Kara (Cole) Schumann, Crystal (Todd)Thompson
and Susann (Michael) Holland; 10 grandchildren: Kalyn Thompson,
Savannah Young, Emily Cheney, Alexis Holland, Autumn Jeffers, Terrance
Cheney, Jada Schumann, Neliah Schumann, Mia Schumann and Cole Schumann
Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren: Jorden Cheney and Arizia Garcia; brothers,
Joe and Jack Young and a sister, Marsha Young.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at
the Holbrook Elks Lodge, 714 Elkdom Ave., Holbrook.

JERRY'S OBITUARY
Jerry L. Young of Holbrook, Arizona peacefully passed away surrounded
by his loving family on July 7, 2021 at his home in Holbrook. He was
73. Jerry was born on August 10, 1947 in Holbrook to his parents the
late, Joseph L. and Genavieve (Rhoton) Young.

Jerry grew up in Holbrook and on the Navajo Reservation graduating
from the Holbrook High School class of 1965. Jerry had a deep love of
country and following high school he enlisted in the United States
Navy on June 4, 1965 in Holbrook. He served on the USS Guadalcanal
(LPH 7) and received his honorable discharge on September 9, 1968 at
the Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia.

Upon his return from service he continued his education at the
Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona and graduated with a
Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting. He then began working for
APS at the Cholla Power Plant in Joseph City, holding his Journeyman
Instrument Repairman card, retiring after 33 years of service.

Jerry was deeply involved in his community and in doing so became a
member of the Navajo County Sheriff's Posse and which he continued for
over 21 years. He enjoyed helping with the search and rescue and
participating in delivering the mail through the Pony Express once a
year. He was also an active member of the Benevolent Protective Order
of Elks Holbrook Lodge #2450 having served as Exalted Ruler for the
Fraternal year 1991-92. He was also heavily involved with their Ritual
team and served as their coach for 12 years leading their team to many
titles throughout the state and nationally.

He enjoyed and was highly skilled in jewelry and staff making as well
as playing the harmonica. He also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid
pool player. Above all Jerry was most proud of his family and each
held a special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed by all
those whom he dearly loved but none more than by his beloved family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jana Young of Holbrook; 4
daughters: Tara Young, Kara (Cole) Schumann, Crystal (Todd)Thompson
and Susann (Michael) Holland; 10 grandchildren: Kalyn Thompson,
Savannah Young, Emily Cheney, Alexis Holland, Autumn Jeffers, Terrance
