| Published by Parker Pioneer from Aug. 4 to Aug. 5, 2021 - Parker, Arizona - Julian Muniz passed away suddenly on July 11, 2021 in Medford, Ore., following a short illness. He was born Dec. 4, 1943 in Santa Ana, Calif. to Luis Muniz and Jenny L. Perez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Louisa Gutierrez, his brother Louie Muniz, and his favorite uncle, Pete Perez. Julian is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Muniz of Big River, Calif., by sons Stephen Muniz of Dana point, Calif., and Gerald Muniz of Phoenix, Ariz.; by his sisters, Rosalie Arnold, Elsa Bosley, Mari Gutierrez, and Luisa Mendoza; by his beloved aunts, Jessie Flores, Edie Soto, Aggie Ramirez, Carmen Perez and Bea Preciado, and by numerous nieces and nephews and great friends. Julian attended grammar school in Santa Ana, Calif. and graduated in the Class of 1961 from Santa Ana Senior High School. He worked in the food distribution business in Southern California for many years. He worked for Delaney Brothers as well as Keeler Foods prior to retiring to Big River, Calif. Julian worked for the Parker Unified School District for 10 years as their warehouse manager and retired in 2009. Along with his wife, Dianne, Julian owned and operated a popular restaurant on the Parker Strip, Julio's Rockin' Baja Grill. Julian loved Parker, Ariz. and made many great friends through his work at the school district and his beloved restaurant, Julio's. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of life, great friendships, his compassion for others, and his great sense of humor. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. |
