Nicholas "Nick" Sessions, age 54, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona after a prolonged fight against COVID-19 and the complications that followed. He was born on March 25, 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Edward Joseph Sessions and Charmaine Sessions Latham. Lt. Sessions was an accomplished law enforcement officer with more than 22 years in service with the BHCPD. You could always count on Lt. Sessions for a laugh and a story, often both at once. He epitomized pride, dedication, honor and commitment. He put his all into helping others - fellow officers and community members alike - and doing it with a smile and wry humor. Everywhere he worked, Lt. Sessions gained the respect and friendship of all who knew him. After briefly serving in the United States Army, Nick Sessions began his law enforcement career as a reserve police officer with LaVerne, CA. Police Department in 1993. He served as a certified police officer in LaVerne from 1994-1995. He joined the Bullhead City Police Department on January 14, 1999. He performed numerous duties including working in the traffic section, narcotics, School Resource Officer, supervisor in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Patrol Commander, SWAT Team Leader, and Tactical Commander. He was awarded Officer of the Year in 2001 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008. Above anything else, he had a strong faith in God that led him through life and he loved his family deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Sessions. Nick is survived by his wife, Jessica R. (Muell) Sessions; son, Aaron C. Sessions; parents, Charmaine Sessions Latham and Randy Latham; sisters, Doreen M. Sessions Barba and husband Steve, Theresa A. Sessions, Christina L. Sessions, Tracie L. Sessions, and Olivia McMahon; brothers, Michael E. Sessions, Brian J. Sessions and his wife Lisa; In-laws, Steven J. Muell and Charlotte G. Muell; brother-in-law, Joshua S. Muell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse, 3663 Bullhead Parkway, Bullhead City, AZ. The funeral service will be open to the public. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. There will be seating arrangements sectioned off for the family, public safety personnel and media. The escorted police procession route will be from Desert Lawn Funeral Home, west on Silver Creek Road, and south along Highway 95 to the Anderson Fieldhouse. The procession is for police vehicles only. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations.
