| Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Aug. 29 to 30, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Benjamin "Ben" B. Garrido, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Bullhead City, Arizona. He was born on September 24, 1947 in Guam, USA. Ben served with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1995. He was a Sergeant 1st Class E7. He received many medals: Overseas Service Bar (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), Purple Heart, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, American Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Vietnam Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, Republic of Viet-Nam, Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and US Army Reserve Recruiter Badge. Ben had a love for life and family! He so enjoyed Karaoke, dancing, casinos and all that goes with that, anything Elvis, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was dedicated and supportive in all that he did. He tirelessly worked with fellow veterans after his retirement from military service as a National Service Officer. He was a Special Liaison for Military and Veterans Organizations. Ben also served on the Board of Directors of the AX-POW for many years. It goes without saying to anyone that truly knew him his greatest love was "His Girls", his beautiful great-granddaughters truly had his heart. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Garrido; children, Andrea Mora Rea, Donald (Laurie) Wolfe, Charlene Renee (Jose) Nunez, and Randy (Phyllis) Dickson; 10 grandchildren, Michael Dickson, Ryan Dickson, Taylor Dickson, Christine Gilbert, Angela Andrews, Danielle Eagan, Earlene Sciuto, Brittney Woods, Nichole Griggs and Devin Griggs; 17 great-grandchildren; and many family members and friends from Southern California, Guam, and Arizona. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 2724 Silver Creek Rd., Bullhead City, Arizona. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Amazing Grace Fellowship, 4195 Lynn Drive, Fort Mohave, Arizona. Officiating, Pastor Drawhorn. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada.
