| Published by Yuma Sun on Sep. 23, 2021 - Yuma, Arizona - Ernest Manuel Palacio, 77, passed away on Monday, September 6th, 2021. He was born in Yuma, Arizona to Frank and Inez Palacio on September 13th, 1943. Ernest attended Yuma High School and was a proud YHS Criminal. Growing up he learned to play the guitar and eventually was in a local band with his brother Alfred Palacio and long time friend and drummer Charles Evaro. Ernest worked as a forklift driver for the Associated Citrus Packers and various other packing warehouses. He married the love of his life Manuela (Martinez Robles) Palacio on May 10, 1975. They were married for 45 lovely years. He was known as Uncle Manuel by all the family and friends. He loved attending family reunions, gatherings and parties. During football season he would get together with family and friends to watch his favorite team the Arizona Cardinals. Ernest is survived by his lovely wife Manuela Palacio of Yuma; sons Mark A. Palacio, Alex M. Palacio, Christopher Palacio and Jason Palacio all of Yuma, AZ; and Daughter Belen Palacio of Waco, TX; Grandsons Alexander Jr., Angel, Arthur, Manuel, Dominic, Jaylon, Avant, Arlo and Avery. Granddaughters Lexus, Vianca, Barbara and Ilianna. Brothers Frank Palacio, Alfred Palacio and sister Gloria Palacio Munoz. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Inez Palacio; sisters Belen Palacio Fernandez; Socorro Palacio Perez; Eleanor Palacio Lopez and Lydia Palacio Orta. Brothers Chowie Palacio and Gilbert Palacio. Funeral services will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 10:00am in Foothills/Yuma, Arizona. Celebration of Life will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Yuma, Arizona. Pallbearers will be: Mark Palacio, Alex Palacio, Belen Palacio, Christopher Palacio, Jason Palacio and Ernie Fernandez.
