Yuma, Arizona -

Buell Hall Burgess, 92, of Somerton, Arizona, passed away peacefully
on September 10, 2021 at YRMC with his daughters by his side.

Buell was born to Agnes (Hall) Burgess and Frank O. Burgess on
September 7, 1929, and grew up in Springfield, Missouri.

In 1948 he joined the Navy and became a Sea Bee while serving his
country. The Navy taught him the telephone and electric trade so after
he was discharged he went to work for Mountain States Telephone and
Telegraph Company. Work brought him to Yuma in 1960 where he met a
young widow, Dannie (Jones) Stringer, through some friends at a local
square dance club. Buell and Dannie married in 1961 and were married
for 50 years. They enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and getting
together with friends in the desert. More than anything they loved
time spent with family-especially their many grandchildren.

Buell was preceded in death by his loving wife Dannie, his sons Buell
Hall (Hal) Burgess II, and Larry Stringer, his parents, his brother,
Ken, and sisters Mary Alexander and Helen Coonis.

He is survived by his daughters Vicki (Rich) Fraser and Becky Burgess
Foster (Don), his sister, Donna Alexandre, and his grandchildren,
Chuck, Landon, Anna, Lauren, Simone, Clint, Lee, Tim, Frank, Vanita,
Samantha, Jesse, Niki, and Anthony, 19 great grandkids and 1 great
great granddaughter.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at
2:00 pm at the Yuma County Mounted Posse Grounds. Desert Valley
Mortuary is in charge of cremation and arrangements. In lieu of
flowers, please donate to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Buell
spent years heading up the Yuma version of their telethon.
