Leroy C. Larsen was born at home on a dairy farm in Burlington, Iowa and
was the youngest of seven siblings.
The family moved to Glendale, California in 1945. Leroy was married to
Myrna Farrell in 1956 and together they had three sons. He was active as
a Little League coach with his sons and his teams won several
championships.
Leroy enjoyed a long career as a driver for United Parcel Service in
downtown Los Angeles for 35 years. In 1999 he and Myrna retired to Lake
Havasu and never looked back. During their 22 years in Lake Havasu they
made countless friendships. Over the years, Myrna and Leroy made many
trips to Europe, the Middle East and South America in order to learn
about foreign cultures.
Leroy served as the president of the Havasu 4 Wheelers and remained an
active member for many years. He also was active in the Havasu Elks
Club. For more than 20 years, Leroy and Myrna organized a charitable
Christian ministry called "The Lord's Bus" that provided essential food,
shelter and clothing to several orphanages in Mexico. Leroy was a member
of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Havasu City.
Leroy leaves behind his three sons Mark, Martin and Michael, their
spouses, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of Leroy's life and his ascension to glory
at Calvary Church on Saturday Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.
