With deepest sorrow, we announce that Garrett Leland Hansen (G-Force!),
age 30, our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away
suddenly on Thursday, August 26, 2021, while swimming in Lake Havasu.
Those who knew Garrett, even just a little, lost a shining light in
their lives. Garrett loved Lake Havasu and the Colorado River and was
involved with many outdoor activities and endeavors: Lake Havasu
Community Garden, LHC Outrigger Canoe Club, Sea Scouts and ASU.

Garrett was a talented artist who loved all water sports, snow skiing,
photography, wood burning art, creative writings, and any (and all!)
adventure-based activities. He had a unique talent to see the beauty in
nature while out exploring, whether it be on a motorcycle ride through
the desert, paddling the lake and river, or a hike in the forests and
mountains. He made new friends everywhere he went and shared a positive
impact on all lucky enough to cross his path. Garrett was a kind and
generous man.

He always found joy in helping others. Garrett graduated from the MCC
fire academy at age 22 and continued to rescue both wildlife and humans
most days of his life. He loved to meet new people on the beach, hear
their stories and share stories of his adventures! He loved to give
kayak and paddleboard tours of remote places in Lake Havasu – and
capture beautiful pictures of the scenery and wildlife along the way.

Garrett is famous for his positive affirmations: whenever someone was
facing a challenge, they would hear Garrett say, “You’ve got this!” He
will be missed everyday by his mother, Kim Hansen Anderson, stepfather,
Jeff Anderson, father, Randy Hansen, stepmother, Charlotte Hansen,
brother, Bryce Hansen and sister Katie Benisch, grandparents, Tommy and
Betty Plemons, uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many great friends.

Garrett will be remembered for his enormous heart and infectious smile –
Garrett lived the Ohana lifestyle. His family, friends and all who knew
him will keep his light shining and never forget him. Please join family
and friends – both old and new – in a celebration ceremony of Garrett’s
life:
