| Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Nov. 3 to Nov. 4, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Martha Alice Everett (Blake), age 75, a resident of Bullhead City, Arizona, passed away from the evil Covid on June 16, 2021 at Lake Havasu Regional Hospital in Lake Havasu, Arizona. She was born on December 21, 1945 in Fontana, California. She was raised in Redlands, Calif. and graduated from Redlands High School in 1964. She lived in Southern Calif. for most of her adult life with the exception of North Vernon, Ind. and Letts, Iowa and then moving to Bullhead City, Ariz. in 2008, where she spent the rest of her life caring for her grandchildren and her great-grandson. At one point she was bored and felt she needed to do something, so at the age of 66, she decided to sign up for the culinary arts program at Mohave Community College. Her goal was to get the certificate for this program, but decided to go for it and ended up proudly graduating with an AA degree at the age of 68 in the year 2014 with honors and making the Dean's list. The friends she met at college were near and dear to her heart. We were so proud of her and she is proof that anyone can do it at any age. Her simple dream in life was to own her own little mobile home and has always wanted to write a book about her life. Mom had such a pure heart full of kindness and forgiveness and would give a homeless person the last dollar she had to help them. She was loving and kind to everyone that had crossed her path. She was the glue that held our family together and was a rare gem. There are no words to describe the heavy feelings in our broken hearts of this great loss. However, we know she is happy and in the Lord's arms, as she loved the Lord and knew we would all be together again someday. Martha was preceded in death by her late husband, Justin Blake; her parents, Morris Cage and Lenora May Everett; sisters, Carolyn Chai and Susan Fattarini; her first grandchild, Peter C. Webber; and her son-in- law, Gordon Leach. Martha is survived by her children, Joanna Leach of Fort Mohave, Ariz,; Daniel Arbuckle-Alford of Yucaipa, Calif.; Laura Butler of Ardmore, Okla.; grandchildren, Stephanie Montgomery of Fort Mohave, Ariz., Christopher Anderson of Ardmore, Okla.; Scott Alford and Sean Alford both of Redlands, Calif.; Jett Webber and Emma Dombey both from Fort Mohave, Ariz.; and Lucas Butler of Ardmore, Okla.; and great-grandson, Peter Badilla of Fort Mohave, Ariz. A double Celebration of Life will be held for Martha and her son-in-law, Gordon Leach at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Los Lagos Golf Club in the banquet room, 6365 S. Entrada Via Verdes, Fort Mohave, AZ. |
