Our beloved father, grandfather, brother-in-law and friend, Alvin Kennad
Larson, age 87, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 29,
2021.

Alvin was born June 12, 1934 to Lillis Jones and Leo A. Larson in Cedar
City, Utah. He later married Carolyn Olmstead on August 26, 1958, in the
Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. The couple raised five children together in Kaysville, Utah
before retiring to Fort Mohave, Ariz. They have lived here for 25 years.

As a youth, Alvin was very social and mechanically inclined. He loved
working on his cars. He spent his teenage years helping his father run
the family businesses, including the Candy Kitchen in Cedar City, Utah
and The Pink Sands in Page, Arizona. As a young adult, he served a
mission to the Southern States for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
day Saints. During his lifetime, he also served as Elders Quorum
President, Sunday School teacher, and Cub Scout leader.

Alvin served in the United States Army from 1958-1963. He received his
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University. He
taught Algebra at Weber State College where he spent many extra hours,
including Saturdays, making sure his students were proficient in the
subject. After receiving his master's degree, he moved to Page, Ariz.,
where he helped build the Glen Canyon Dam. Alvin later worked at Hill
Air Force Base in Clearfield, Utah for 28 years, developing and
improving B-52 flight simulators among other aerospace projects. He
received many awards for his outstanding work.

His children and grandchildren have fond memories of yearly trips to
Flaming Gorge, Lake Powell, Nordic Valley and Powder Mountain. He was a
patient instructor, and taught all of his kids to waterski. His
grandchildren remember him as "Rainbow Bridge Grandpa," and for the
trips to Dangling Rope Marina for ice cream. He loved ham radio,
building things, working on old trucks, and taught many of his
grandchildren Morse Code.

Alvin enjoyed traveling, visiting nine countries and many destinations
in the United States over his lifetime. After retirement, he and his
wife, Carolyn, helped grow the flagship Jennings & Larson Family
Dentistry practice on Hancock Rd. Many patients will remember seeing his
constant efforts to keep the parking lot in good repair, and will miss
his unique sense of humor and kind actions.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillis; father, Leo; brother,
Leo Samuel Larson; and his baby sister, Carla.

Besides his own mission service, Alvin sent four sons and 12
grandchildren on LDS missions. He is survived by a daughter, Heidi; four
sons, Kevan, Kirk, Kelly and Kyle; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-
grandchildren; as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Verne and
Shirley Nelson, Spencer and Pat Erickson, Joan Thompson, and Kathy
Larson.

Alvin was an excellent example of a faithful covenant keeper and
enduring to the end. He loved his family deeply and showed genuine
interest in their lives. We will miss his colorful stories, generous
heart and sense of humor. He was dearly loved and will be greatly
missed.

A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021
at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1690 River Gardens
Dr., Bullhead City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome at the
service to benefit a family missionary.
