A life well lived . . . Robert B. Wells III (Bob) passed away on July
31, 2021 in Lake Havasu, a place he enjoyed during his active life. He
was born on August 18, 1939 in Washington, D.C. to Evelyn Biddle Wells
and Robert B. Wells II. Bob married Carolyn R. Goodrum on April 18, 1959
and lived sixty-one action packed years together.

Bob was the eldest tribe member of four boys: Ralph Tucker Wells,
Richard Warren Wells, and Roy Matthew Wells. As a young boy, Bob lived
on a dairy farm and tobacco farm in Virginia and moved to Texas as a
teen. A passion of Bob’s was reading and discussing the history of the
United States. An interesting fact, Bob is a descendant of Moses Wells,
a Revolutionary War soldier in the Kegley, Militia of Montgomery Co., VA
(DAR # A207995).

Bob was an avid sportsman and enjoyed professional bowling, deep sea
fishing, fly fishing, golfing, baseball, football, boating, and
barbequing (he made it a sport). Bob bowled in professional competitions
all over Texas and Louisiana, while Carolyn acted as score keeper –
keeping track of the winnings.!. For ten years, Bob coached fledgling
Buena Park National Little League teams transforming them into
championship winners! Let’s face it, Bob’s competitive nature turned any
activity into a sport… a sport which he won.!.

During his career, Bob proudly owned and operated Texas Litho and Sage
Lounge in Houston, and Wells Color Press in Los Angeles. Bob’s
competitive nature, fueled his professional drive for excellence and the
respect of his colleagues “as one of the best” in the lithography
industry.

As passionate as Bob was about sports and history, he was just as
passionate about his family and showing each of them how to live life to
the fullest. Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children: Robin,
Bruce, and Renee; his grandchildren: Natalie, Hannah, Madisson, Destiny,
and James; his great-grandchildren: Joseph, Hailey, Dexton, Logan,
Maddix, Averie, and Hudson; his dogs: Opie and Bud Bud; and was preceded
in death by his son James Curtis; and his grandson Riley.

The family is planning a “Celebration of Life” to honor Bob’s life and
legacy and will be announcing the date soon.
