Michael Harry Athas

Michael Harry Athas was born in Baltimore, on Sept. 26, 1955 to Margaret
and William Athas. He left this life for a better path on Oct. 24, 2021
in Lake Havasu City. He is survived by his loving parents; his two
brothers, William and Mark; his sister Mary; two nieces, Jennifer and
Jessica; and many more loving friends and family.

Michael loved life and appreciated all that it had to offer. He had a
passion with nature and was most happy when he was camping, hiking,
interacting with his friends or just working outdoors.

Michael's career paths included working in the family restaurant,
working with his mother as a floral designer, working with his hands as
an expert plumber and in construction, and serving as a lay person with
the Greek Orthodox Church. His service with his church included service
with the Holy Cross Monastery in Washington D.C., and in the monastery
in Palmas, Greece. Michael loved his church and was happiest in this
service.

Michael loved people. He enjoyed talking, sharing, helping, and offering
his time however he could.

Funeral services were conducted at the Greek Orthodox Mission in Lake
Havasu City on Friday, Oct. 29. He will be interred in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Fairview Cemetery.
