| Published by Today's News Herald on Dec. 1, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Louis Boozell passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Nov. 20, 2021 surrounded by family. He spent 80 years in this life. Lou was a detective for the Los Angeles Police Department in charge of the Robbery/Homicide division until retiring to Lake Havasu City with his wife, Dolores. During the last 26 years, he became involved in many local clubs and activities. He enjoyed and was a proud member of the Choir Boys, of which he was president of the Lake Havasu chapter for a time. Lou was president of the board of directors for the shooting range at SARA Park. He shared his expertise with everyone there. Lou had a love for vintage cars and belonged to the Outcasts car club. He also was a member of the Lake Havasu Elks club where he spent time with good friends for good causes. Lou was knowledgeable in so many areas, and despite his reserved nature, he had a big heart. Whenever they could, Lou and his wife were on the lake fishing and boating with friends. He and Dolores rode many miles exploring the open roads. One of Lou and Dolores's favorite ways to enjoy free time was to go camping with their beloved Labrador retrievers. They would explore the desert, run in the woods, and go for rides in the razor. There will be no formal services but a small celebration at a later date. Arrangements were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
