C.Barry Jacobsen was born in Madera, California on August 28, 1938 to
Clarence Jacobsen and Doris Miller Jacobsen.

Barry grew up in Madera and graduated from Madera High School in 1956.
During high school he was active in track and field and the marching and
dance band, where he played the trumpet. After high school, he attended
Fresno State College.

He loved airplanes and got his private and commercial licenses for
airplanes and gliders. During this time he met Carol Cudd, daughter of
Carl Cudd and Sybil Voss Cudd. Barry and Carol were married in Reno,
Nevada on August 24, 1961. Barry then joined the Army National Guard in
Madera, and in 1965 they moved to Fremont, California where he started
working as a pilot at Sky Sailing Airport.

In 1965 Carol gave birth to a son, Barry Cole Jacobsen, and in 1969 they
welcomed another son, Matthew Carl Jacobsen. During this time, Barry was
active in the National Guard unit in San Mateo, California and attended
officer's training school. He worked his way up the ranks and after 20
years retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In 1979 Barry and a friend decided to buy a Sailplane Operation at the
Heber Valley Airport in Heber, Utah. Moving the family to Heber was a
big change for everyone. Their sons, Cole and Matt, were 14 and 10 years
old at this time. The boys attended grammar school and Wasatch High
School. In addition to flying at the airport, Barry worked on the local
Heber Creeper train and convinced the railroad guys to teach him to
operate the train, which he enjoyed very much. Barry and Carol decided
to move to Timberlakes Estates in Heber Valley. They bought a lot, and
Barry built a solar-designed home there. They enjoyed living there at
7,400 feet elevation, met nice friends, and did snowmobiling in the
winter.

In 2003 Barry and Carol retired to Lake Havasu, Arizona, where they
enjoyed many years of friendships and social life. They moved to Salt
Lake City to be near their sons on October 1, 2021. After moving to
their townhome in Sandy, Barry had a massive heart attack and passed
away at the age of 83.

Barry was a loving husband to Carol and a loving father to his sons,
Cole and Matt. He will be missed.
