Richard "Dick" C. Underwood, 80, of Sherwood, Wisconsin, was sent eternally to God on November 8, 2021, at Theda-Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah, Wisconsin, with his family by his side. Dick was born on April 3, 1941, in Laona, Wisconsin, the son of the late Everett and Evelyn (Hubbard) Underwood Thiele.

Dick loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, skier, hiker, biker and gardener. With his green thumb, he turned his yard into the delight and envy of the neighborhood, wherever he lived. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.

Dick spent his working years at George C. Banta Company in Menasha, Wisconsin, retiring in 2005 after 43 years of service to the company in the bindery department. After retirement Dick spent many years at his home in Winneconne, Wisconsin, before becoming a "snowbird" and traveling in his RV between Wisconsin and Wickenburg and later becoming a permanent resident of Arizona where he groomed a golf course to cover his green fees.

Dick is survived by his wife Nancy; sister Barbara Hoover of Warsaw, Indiana; children: Scott (Lisa) Underwood of Hartford, Wisconsin; Rick (Judy) Underwood of Appleton, Wisconsin; Denice (Scott) Hudson of Malone, New York, and Kimberlie (Benjamin) Warnke of Chicago; the mother of his children: Carol Underwood; grandchildren: Brittany Underwood, Teah (Tyler) Underwood, Heather (Brent) Clark, Erik (Tina) Underwood, Bret (Ruta) Hudson, Brenna Hudson and Ava Hudson; 4 great grandchildren and one on the way. He is further survived by Nancy's children: Lorie (Lee) Torbeck, Julie (Mike) Schmelling and Vonda (Matt) Otto; their grandchildren: Eryn (Joe), Asher (Jen), Kaley, Lindsay (Jared), Adam (Brenda), Noelle (Olufemi), Spencer (Skylar), Chad (Charity), Casey (Brody) and Ashley (Nick); 14 great grandchildren and one on the way; and a great great granddaughter.

Preceding Dick in death were his brothers: Norman and Cletus Underwood; his sisters: Phyllis Sparangis, Carolyn Anderson and Shirley Gott and also his second wife Lynn Mader.

With the blessings of his family and friends Dick married his third wife, Nancy Underwood and the two settled in Sherwood, Wisconsin. He enjoyed an active social life, surrounded by friends, family and his church community. He will be missed by all, including his beloved cat Pixie.

Dick lived his life to the fullest extent on his own terms. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2022.
