Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona)

John A. Radway, Jr. passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2021 at the age
of 85. John was a special person to all who knew him. He is now with his
cherished Claire who predeceased him in 2010.
He spent his childhood in Hawaii and his teenage years in northern
California. He was a very cuious and intelligent man who graduated from
Stanford University with a degree in Philosophy, and a juris doctorate
law degree from Hastings College of the Law. While attending Hastings he
met the love of his life Claire.
John practiced law in Honolulu as a prosecuting attorney. Later he
returned to his childhood passion of farming as a macadamia nut farmer
on the big island of Hawaii. After his parents, John Sr. and Margaret,
passed away in Hawaii during the 1980's, he and Claire moved to Arizona
to be closer to her folks in Prescott. They eventually settled in
Wickenburg over 35 years ago. John loved the town and especially the
people who lived there.
John was an extraordinarily giving person. During his lifetime he gave
generously both monetarily and especially his personal time and energies
to the charities he came to believe represented the best of human
existence. He created the Claire and John Radaway Foundation to continue
this giving philosophy long into the future.
John will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
