He graduated from Alliance High School in Alliance, NE. After graduating he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. During that time his father died suddenly and he came home to help his mother raise his younger sister and brother. Don worked several different places through those years. While working at Electric Hose and Rubber, Don and Gretchen met and fell in love. They were married in 1977 in Alliance, NE. Gretchen has three sons from a previous marriage who Don raised as his own. As a child Don attended the Salvation Army Church. At that time he asked the Lord into his life, but as many of us he let that slip by and it wasn't until 1987 when he had a massive coronary that he knew God had something more in mind for his life. At that time he gave full control of his life to God. He was very quiet about it, but studied daily searching for God's will in his life. Don was a member of Alliance Berean Church in Alliance, NE and also Grace Bible Fellowship in Yuma, AZ. Don was always excited and joyful at the birth of each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was important to him. Don worked for BNSF Railroad as a machinist. Mostly in tool repair being known as Don the Tool Guy. He retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. Dan was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister, daughter-in- law, many aunts and uncles. Survivors include, wife Gretchen, brother Bill (Pam) Bolinger of Douglas, NE. Sons Troy Moss (Stacey) of Green River, WY, Mike Moss (Jennifer) of Alliance, NE, Brad Moss (Maggie) of Grafton , NE. 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all. Celebration of Life Services to be held at Grace Bible Fellowship on January 3rd, 2021 at 10:30 am.
