Frederic Van Washington

Fredric Van Washington, known as Chuckie, was born September 1, 1950, to
the late Alex E. H. & Hazel Washington Sr. in McGhee, Arkansas, Chuckie
received his education at Desha School (1st – 12th) and University of
Arkansas at Conway. Chuckie enlisted into the United States Marine Corp
and served his country honorably.

In 1974, Chuckie married Francine Thompson in McGhee and soon after
relocated to California. In 1984, their only child was born, Fakita R.
(Washington) Woodruff. He was a proud Security Guard, Los Angeles City
Bus Driver (RTD & MTS) and also a Truck Driver (Regular & Oversized). He
was forced from working in 2010 when sickness started attacking him. He
has been fighting ever since. WHAT A FIGHTER HE WAS!

Chuckie was a kind, gentle man. Loved by all whom met him. He didn't
like confrontations at all. He just wanted everyone to be happy.

Fredric Van Washington is survived by his wife, Francine Washington, (47
years on December 23rd), daughter, Fakita Tiyisia (Curtiss III)
Woodruff, three grandchildren, Malachi Tyree Lofton (15), Curtiss
Woodruff IV (3), and Alena Nyla Woodruff (3 mos.) all of Maricopa,
Arizona, four Siblings, Alex E. (Grace) Washington Jr. of Brighton,
Michigan, Beverly E. (Dr. Merlin J.), Augustine of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, Maurice S. (Lucy) Washington of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lt.
Col. Dwight C. (Waynetta) Washington of Woodbridge, Virginia and a host
of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Services to be held at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at Legacy
Funeral Home, 1374 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, Arizona 85225 and
Interment Services at 11:00 am at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona,
23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
