| Published by The Arizona Republic on dec. 31, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona >> November 2, 1953 - December 23, 2021 << Phoenix, Arizona - Vickie Hatcher, 68, passed away on December 23rd, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ due to medical complications caused from COVID. Born in Pratt, KS, and spending the majority of her years in Wichita, KS, she built herself an amazing life with careers in the aviation field as well as a Certified Nurse Assistant working as a caregiver. She moved to Arizona to spend her retirement with warm weather, beautiful desert scenery, and her last living son, who held her hand as she took her final breath in this world. Vickie is survived by her son, Matthew Berndsen, her sister, Sandra Holbrook, her nieces, Christina and Lindsey Holbrook, her maternal aunt, Janet Lively, her maternal uncle, David Williams, her paternal aunt, Linda Hatcher, and many more extended family on both the Hatcher and Williams side, as well as every single life she touched. She is preceded in death by her firstborn son, Shawn Berndsen, her mother, Shirley Hatcher, her father, William Hatcher, her sister, Kay Deane Hatcher, and her beloved dog, Jojo. Services in Wichita are still pending, but they will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67206 so her remains can be laid to rest with her mother, father, and firstborn son.
