| Published by The Arizona Republic on Dec. 30, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona - Robert William Gillis, formerly of Peoria, passed away quietly in his sleep on December 23rd, 2021. He was born in Sommerville, MA on December 27, 1931 to John and Lillian Barker Gillis. He met the love of his life, Virginia Thomas, after graduating high school and they were later married on September 22nd, 1956. Robert did a brief stint in the Army during the Korean War. He later attended Boston University and got a degree in business administration. Robert was preceded in passing by his wife of 64 years and is survived by his children Glenn and Laura as well as daughter-in-law Tina. He also has four grandchildren Robert, Ryan, Justin and Josh. Robert was the rock of the family and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. |
