Richard was born on April 5, 1961 to William and Susan George in Mesa, Arizona. "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 6-8 Richard moved to Sedona in 1972 where he would begin little league, a love that would take him through High School and to receiving a baseball scholarship. Richard was a kind and helpful man, always ready and willing to be there in someone's time of need, so much so that he once received the Good Neighbor award from his community for his good deeds. After High School graduation he went on a trip to the Grand Canyon with a youth group. They had gotten lost somewhere along the way and Richard was able to find water, which kept everyone safe until search and rescue were able to find and save the group thanks to Richard's efforts. To know him was to know true kindness. Richard moved to Bullhead City in 1986 where he worked at the Golden Nugget for 28 years, then moved onto working at Tropicana for the last 5 years. He made many friends along the way who he grew strong bonds with. Many are still his friends today. Richard was preceded in death by his father, William Richard George. He is survived by his mother, Susan Janet George; and his sister, Victoria Blessing; nephew Nathan (Autumn) Mullins; and their children, Seth (Judy) Mullins, Luna Mullins, and Solaris Mullins; niece, Amanda (Antoine) Anderson, and their children, Bethany Avila, Katherin (Rodney Plympton) Avila, and Asaun Anderson; nephew, Zack (Ahnalyse Marvin) Blessing; three great-great- nephews, Mathew Mullins, Mason Mullins, and Rodney "Cinco" Plympton. While Richard did not have children of his own, anyone that knew him well knew that his nieces and nephews were like his own. "Unkie '' as he was known to us, gave us so much joy, love, and wisdom. He will live on through each one of us. We love you Unkie. A public memorial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at The Way Christian Church 4122 S Hwy 95, Ft Mohave AZ. |
