Marlene York, 71, of Lake Havasu City, died January 17, 2022. Born in
Louisville, Kentucky to Amos Jay and Elsie Madine Embry on June 22,
1950.

Marlene is survived by daughters, Tracy Davis, Teri Jameson, and Tina
Cleveland; and grandchildren, Johnny, Kieran, Emma, Kaleb, and Paige.
Her best friend, Arlene Heatherington, precedes her in death. Pat Buzzi,
Arlene's paramour, remains Marlene's oldest and dearest friend.

Known for creative vocabulary, snarky and/or loving nicknames, and
hilarious storytelling; Marlene's laughter was legendary. She loved to
go on adventures, and shared this with her friends and her children.
Some of Marlene's favorite trips involved Canadians, Pat and Arlene, or
her crew from the Evil Empire. She saw Myrtle Beach in the summer, State
Parks in the fall, and took a special trip to Atlanta to see pandas.

Marlene never met a chicken she didn't like, nursed small animals to
health, preferred to sleep on couches instead of beds, and hated snakes.
She taught her daughters to be opinionated, independent, and stubborn.
Gardenias were her favorite flowers. She used her humor liberally.

Marlene lived in Ontario, Canada, Shepherdsville, KY, & Sebring, FL
during her life. Antique stores were her favorite places "to root around
in" because you never know what you might find. Her favorite restaurants
were mom & pop or hole-in-the-wall types.

Per her wishes, Marlene is being cremated and her ashes will be kept in
a Chock full o'Nuts coffee can.

Arrangements were placed in the care of Desert Lawn Funeral Home.
