| Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jan. 26 to Feb. 2, 2022 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Wendell Ormiston, age 92, a resident of Golden Shores, Arizona, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 3, 2022. Wendell was born on May 30, 1929 in Utleyville, Colorado. Wendell was raised in Las Animas, Colorado. He was one of three children born to the late James H. and Ruth (Peters) Ormiston. Wendell married Evonee "Bobbie" Kenley on January 31, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico. Being surrounded by his family was Wendell's greatest joy. Coming in a close second was being a proud member of the Golden Shores Community. He was a founding member of the Golden Shores Offroaders, a founding leader of the Golden Shores Fire Department, as well as serving as the department's second Fire Chief. He served on the Senior Nutrition Board, the Golden Shores Civic Association Board, and was the head printer of The Topock Topics. He also was a staple at Bingo. It's hard to put into words his value to the community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie; son, Gary L. Ormiston; and two brothers, Bruce Ormiston and George Ormiston. Wendell is survived by his loving children, Wendell E. Ormiston, Kathy L. (Richard) Slane and Mrs. Michelle Ormiston; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Golden Shores Community Center, 13136 Golden Shores Parkway, Golden Shores, Arizona. |
