| Published by Today's News Herald on Apr. 13, 2022 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Delores Ann Zeman, 85, of Lake Havasu City, passed away March 7, 2022. Delores was born in New Sharon, Iowa to parents Bill and Edna. She was the middle of three daughters. At the age of 6, the family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She had many fond memories of growing up, including bike riding with her sisters, going to school, and community dances. Delores graduated high school in June 1954. She met her future husband, Marvin, on a blind date set up by Marvin's sister, Lorraine. They married on May 5, 1956. They soon welcomed three sons, Mark, Bryan, Darryl before moving to San Gabriel, California in 1960, where they welcomed their daughter, Marie. Delores was very proud of, and dedicated, to her family, standing firmly beside her husband and supporting her children in all of their endeavors. She was a strong, quiet woman who was also known to be quite stubborn at times. Delores had a passion for both reading and crocheting, making not only afghans but fine lace as well. She gifted all of her loved ones with her beautiful work. After retirement, Marvin and Delores moved to Northern California to the community of Lake Shastina, where they built their dream home. They enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV. In 2011, health issues prompted them to move closer to family. Delores is survived by her sister, Norma; her children, Mark, Bryan, Darryl, and Marie; her eleven grandchildren; and her 10 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Marvin; her mother, Edna; her father, Bill; and her sister, Rose. The family will hold a private celebration of her life. |
