On March 18, 2022, Patricia "Pat" Henry slipped away from the bonds of this earth and into the arms of her precious Savior. She was a mom, a grandma and a great-grandma as well, and is sorely missed by all of her family.

Pat was born on July 14, 1942, to Ralph and Catherine Spalding of Indianapolis, Indiana. She had one precious sister, Merianne, and would gain two brothers, Ray Allen and Butch, when her mother Catherine remarried to Harold Clift. She was also mother to four daughters, Shannon Vey (Stanley), Kelli Erin Hardee (Stanley), Jenilyn Donahey (Henry) and Catherine Henry and mother-in-law to John Hardee and Mike Donahey. She was grandmother to seven, Amanda Schuler (Grooms), Andrew Hardee, John Hardee IV, Tricia Hardee, Tyler Donahey, Kerilyn Farrar (Donahey) and Hannah Vargas (Donahey). She was also great-grandmother to 13 little ones. She was a fine example to her four daughters of how to excel by making her way in a world that, prior to 1978, she did not have access to.

In 1969, she moved with her husband and children from Borrego Springs, California, to Phoenix, where she immediately became a dispatcher for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. Then, in 1978, for the very first time ever, MCSO decided to allow women to be sworn in as deputies and Pat was sworn in with the first group of five women to ever have earned that designation. She was pretty fearless then and even managed to continue her college education during that time. She was always a great singer, one of the things that made her happiest, eventually joining the choir at St. Anthony's of Padua, where she was a member until her passing. She also joined the Wickenburg Community Choir getting to perform at various functions around town and spent some time as a seamstress for the Wickenburg Square Dancers, helping to develop elaborate costumes. She became quite skilled at crocheting and knitting, making all kinds of blankets, baby clothes, etc. Her family members are now blessed to have the special items she made as a reminder of her sweet spirit and kindness. Pat is and will continue to be dearly missed but we know she is healthy now and her singing voice has returned to her and is strong again. On a quiet day, if you listen, you may just hear her singing one of her Irish tune
