Dennis Leroy Butterfield
December 1, 1938 - March 30, 2022

Dennis Leroy Butterfield, 83, husband of 63 years, father, brother, and uncle, passed out of this world Wednesday morning in Glendale. Generous, kind, honest and a friend to all, he was a talented craftsman who could build a house, boat, car or computer and always said he could fix everything but a broken heart. A resident of Arizona since 1968, he was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and grew up in California. As an adult, he built houses, flat bottom boats and classic cars.

Dennis played basketball in high school, enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing and camping. He loved pets and cared for every one his family brought home. He was usually their favorite human. Although housebound for the past 10 years due to COPD, he found many activities to stay busy like researching his family on Ancestry, listening to all kinds of music, playing chess online, and reading the news online at 5 a.m. each morning. He enjoyed staying in touch with family by email and pictures, watching the little ones grow up. Dennis stayed up to date with current technology and rebuilt many computers to see how they worked. He was a curious soul to the end. He was homebound but not alone and never never complained about his condition.

There will be no services at his request. In lieu of condolences, please help the organization of your choice. Friends may offer online condolences at www.wickenburgfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.
