| Published by Today's News Herald from May 1 to May 2, 2022 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Donalee Elizabeth Sebastian, 83, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at her home in Lake Havasu City in the loving arms of her daughter Stephanie. She was born on June 14, 1938, in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa. Donalee resided in Lake Havasu City for the past 26 years. She and her husband relocated to Lake Havasu City from Norwalk, California. Donna met Vern who turned out to be the love of her life in high school, but they took different roads in life. In the spring of 1990, fate brought them back together in a chance meeting at a McDonald's of all places. They spent the next 21 years together until his passing in July of 2011. Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and caregiver. She will always be remembered for her loving kindness and selflessness. She would open her house up to anyone in need. She never knew a stranger and would do anything within her power to help someone in need. Donna and her sisters loved playing Bingo. They went on an annual trip to Laughlin that continued even after she relocated to Lake Havasu City. When her husband was alive, they would enjoy Bingo together. Donna worked at a drug store when she lived in Lake Isabella. She spent many years as a caregiver to her son Johnny after a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed. In her fifties she decided she wanted a new career and went to Pharmacy Technician school. She then went to work at multiple pharmacies as a pharmacy tech. Donna is survived by daughters, Stephanie Burke, Laurie Wakefield, Julie (Mike) Matull; grandchildren, Tommy, Helen, Douglas, Nichalus, Donalee, Becky and Dylan, Andrea, Jason, Christopher, Jennifer (Andy), Sarah (Justin), Michael; great grandchildren, Hayden, Audry, Daymein, Lona, Julitha, Ja-Leigha, Andrew, Daisy, Taylor, Marshall, Vinny, Greyson, Andrew, Brandon, Alexia, Jadyn, Aubrie, Rylan, Adilynn; sister Linda and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend Vernon Floyd Sebastian (papa), son Johnny Wise, daughter Cheryl Butts, grandson Lil Johnny Wise, and sister Joan. |
