Mary Seline Hackland, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. She
was born on August 1, 1932 in Orange Walk, Belize to Frank Allen Keith
and Hilaria Perdomo Keith.
Mary's father passed away when she was five. She went to live with her
Aunt Ida and uncle Harry Baggett in Northern California. After
graduating from Chico State, she taught first grade in Walnut Creek,
Calif. After her husband George got out of the Navy, they were married
and George started Pharmacy School at Berkeley, Calif.
After he graduated, they bought the Needles Point Pharmacy in
partnership with George's parents, Bert and Jewel Hackland. They built
the current pharmacy in 1972. Mary was active in Blue Birds, PTA, square
dancing, Needles Methodist Church and The Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and her sister,
Frances.
Mary is survived by her three children, Mary (Jimmy) Pegg, Bill Hackland
and Donna (Joe) Gutierrez; three grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.
She asked for no funeral or memorial, and we will honor this request.
