Walter (Pops) Ransaw

Bullhead City, Arizona -

Walter (Pops) Ransaw, age 82 passed to Eternal Life peacefully at home
in Bullhead City, Arizona on Friday, January 14, 2022. Walter was born
December 11, 1939 the son of M.L and Helen (Burns) Ransaw in Alexander
City, Alabama.

Walter lived and worked in Youngstown, Ohio as a millwright for
Youngstown Sheet and Tube until its closure in 1977. He then moved to
Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he used his millwright training working for
the railroad, A.O. Smith and retiring from Metal Forms. During his time
in Milwaukee, he served as head of the deacon board for True Life
Missionary Baptist Church.

He enjoyed sitting on the porch talking to all that passed his way. He
enjoyed feeding and watching the birds as well as having a small garden.
He made friends no matter where he went as shown when moving to Bullhead
City, Arizona becoming active at the Senior Center until it closed due
to COVID.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alex Ransaw;
sister, Doris Brown; and beloved partner of 38 years Ophelia (Debbie)
Williams.

He is survived by his four daughters, Shenita Miller of Alabama, Debra
(Troy) McIntosh of Campbell, Ohio, Glynda Miller of Dacula, Georgia, and
Tammy Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four sons, Darin (Robin) Ransaw
of Suffolk, Virginia, Walter (Crystal) Ransaw and William Ransaw, both
of Youngstown, Ohio and Walter (Lynn) Williams of Bullhead City,
Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy
(M.L.)(Marilyn) Ransaw, Jr. of Henderson, Nevada and Jackie Ransaw of
Youngstown, Ohio; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
relatives and friends.

The Williams family would like to send a special thank you to care team
from Compassus Hospice Care of Bullhead City, Arizona for their
compassionate care of Pops through his final transition. Monica, Trisha,
Shelby, and Caramae you all were truly amazing and your help through
this process was truly appreciated.
