| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, March 23, 2022, p. A-5 James Richard 'Dick' Rose July 1939 - February 2022 James Richard "Dick" Rose of Wickenburg passed away in February at Banner Del Webb Hospital, SCW [Sun City West]. He showed the same courage and strength in the face of a recent serious illness as he had all through his life. Dick was born and raised in East Detroit and had a lifelong love of automobiles. They were his life's work after serving in the Navy, sailing on the USS Forrestal. Once home, he married his now, late wife Mary. They raised six great children (four sons and two daughters), all now with families of their own. Automotive shops and car dealerships all benefited from his expertise, as he was the owner/operator of United Car Care in Sun City. After living and working in Arizona for many years, he retired and, with his second wife Gracie, moved to Wickenburg, where he quickly became part of the collector-car scene. Many hours were spent with his wonderful "car buddies," sharing tales and working on cars. His motto with cars was always 'faster and louder.' He will be missed by his surviving wife Gracie, plus all members of his large family and all those locally who knew him. Thankfully, he is now at peace in the arms of his loving Lord. |
