Gladys L. (Griffin) Dawson

COTTONWOOD, Ariz.--Private services will be held for Gladys L. Dawson, 96, who died in Arizona Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1903, in Lebanon, Okla.

Mrs. Dawson had been a real estate broker in Ukiah and in both Flagstaff and Sedona, Ariz. She had a passion for collecting and studying meteorites, and donated her collection to Arizona State University.

Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dawson, who operated a Ukiah refrigeration business for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence E. Dawson of Cottonwood and Robert B. Dawson of Flagstaff, and by a brother, Lee Griffin of Chino Valley, Ariz. She also is survived by two grandchildren, David Dawson of Moab, Utah, and Diane Immethun of Flagstaff. Three great-grandchildren also survive.

Contributions to the Dawson Family Scholarship fund for a Native American graduate student at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff are preferred by the family
