Fredric Bond Gilpin, Sr.

Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Fredric "Rick" Bond Gilpin Sr. passed away in Lake Havasu City on June
12, 2022. He was born on April 19, 1940 to George and Iona Gilpin in
Morenci, Arizona.

Rick married his wonderful wife, Gayle, in Ukiah, California on Aug. 12,
1979 and spent 42 happy years married to his soulmate. Through the
years, they traveled up and down the West Coast where they lived and
worked in various places from Alaska, Hawaii, southern and northern
California, before they settled in Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2002.

Rick worked for a telephone company and Lockheed Propulsion Co. before
he became a heavy equipment mechanic. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline,
and worked many years in Hawaii, as well as Eureka, California.

He was a member of the Lake Havasu Gem and Mineral Society, the Lake
Havasu Museum of History, Mojave Desert Gem and Mineral Society, Mojave
River Valley Museum, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Daggett Historical
Society.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Gilpin and Iona
Greenhalgh; daughter, Blanch Leeann Gilpin; son, Christopher T. Gilpin;
brother, William (Bill) G. Gilpin; and sister, Tana Lee (Gilpin) Eastman
Plauger.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle; sons, Ricky Gilpin, Jeff Gilpin, and
John DeVoist, daughter, Lori DeVoist; brothers, Donnie Smith and Darryl
Smith; and sisters, Mary Dicicco, Lana Plum, Carol Lasater, and Milre
Wirts, as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
