ABRAHAM, James Douglas

Published by The Miner on July 2, 2022 - Kingman, Arizona - James Douglas Abraham, 83, died June 28, 2022, at home after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 1939. Jim worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years as a Test Technician, first in Dearborn, Michigan, then he transferred to the Ford Proving Grounds in Yucca, Arizona in 1969. He was a charter member of the Kingman Youth Football League. He also participated in Kingman Little League Baseball programs, and Kingman High School Booster Club for many years. Abraham is survived by his wife Judy; sons Brent (Karla) Abraham of Temecula, California, and Bradley (Joan) Abraham of Kingman; grandchildren Kiersten (Matt) Volz of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Dustin (Olivia) Abraham of Temecula, California, Sayre Abraham of Kingman, Arizona, and Brian (Visha) Abraham of Kingman, Arizona; great- grandchildren Carmine and Xylan Abraham of Kingman, Arizona, and Leni and Liam Volz of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; brother- and sister-in laws Eddie (Kareese) Forshee of Thousand Palms, California, Mary Forshee Carlson of Mesa, Arizona, Cathy Cooper of Clovis, New Mexico, Ginny Abraham of Fenton, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Keith Abraham of Kingman, Arizona, parents Stanley and Isabel Abraham of Plymouth, Michigan, in- laws Edsel and Geraldine Forshee of Mesa, Arizona, brother Dr. Thomas Abraham of Fenton, Michigan; brother-in-law Don Carlson of Mesa, Arizona, and brother-in-law Newell Cooper of Clovis, New Mexico. Wonderful memories were made following his sons in Kingman Little League baseball, Kingman Youth Football, Kingman High School football, basketball, baseball and golf games, Phoenix College football, University of Arizona baseball and hundreds of Kingman softball games he watched and participated in. Then came the grandchildren to follow with baseball, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and tennis games all over Arizona followed by college graduations at University of Arizona in Tucson and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Jim supported Ford Motor Company with the dozens of cars he bought to follow his family activities for many memorable wonderful years. Jim requested to be cremated, with no funeral or graveside services. Those we love don’t go away they walk beside us every day unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
