| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, June 22, 2022, p. A-5 Linda Louise Wilson (McCoy) was born in Chehalis, Washington, the third child of Roland and Arline McCoy. Her older siblings are Caroline and Ron. Her younger sibling is Ray. Although she grew up in Washington, she graduated from Arcata High School, in Arcata, California, in 1961. Soon after graduation, she married Charles Swenson and had two boys, Tony in 1962 and Timothy in 1964. Linda was a stay-at-home mother while Charles worked in the lumber industry. Linda and Charles were divorced in 1969. Linda met John Wilson, DC, in Arcata. They married in 1971 and moved to Hayward, California. John had his chiropractic office in Oakland, California. Linda worked as his receptionist. Wile raising Tony and Tim, Linda was active in Cub Scouts, taking on the role as a den mother. She was also active with Huntwood Baptist Church. Due to failing health, John retired in 1980. In 1982, John and Linda moved to Wickenburg, where the drier, cleaner air was better for John's breathing. Linda worked a number of different jobs in Wickenburg. In 1996, Linda trained to become a beautician. After working in a couple of beauty shops, she was able to open her own beauty shop. She was widowed when John passed away in 2008. Linda continued as a beautician for many years until a diagnosis of cancer caused her to retire. Through chemotherapy, Linda was able to beat cancer a number of times. After surviving his own bout with cancer, Linda's brother, Ray, moved to Wickenburg to be close to Linda. Linda was active in her local church for the full 40 years that she lived in Wickenburg. She first attended First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg. During her time with First Southern Baptist, Linda was in the choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She was most recently a member of Mosaic Church of Wickenburg. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Arline, her husband John, her son Tony, her sister Caroline, her brother Ron, her nephew Paul and her niece Katrina. Linda had a number of grandchildren, through her son Timothy and his wife, Catherine. They are Caitlan of Castro Valley, California, Ashlyn of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Megan of Union City, California. Linda has a number of nieces and nephews from her sister Caroline; Rick, Michael and Amy, from her brother Ron; Ridge, Danita and Selena.
