Delvin Lee Elder

Delvin Lee Elder 90, passed away on July 13, 2022 in Lake Havasu City,
Arizona. Del, as he was known by all of his friends and family, was born
in Provolt, Oregon on August 5, 1931 to Mildred and Gilbert Elder. He
grew up in a logging family in southwestern Oregon spending most of his
youth in Trail just outside of Medford and attended the high school in
Trail. He started logging with the family at age 14 and continued until
he enlisted in the Army and spent 3 years during the Korean War. After
proudly serving his country he returned to Oregon to once again work
with his brothers in the Elder Logging Company. After returning
stateside, Del joined his dad and brothers once again, in the Elder
Logging Company. Del married Darlene Luiten on August 13, 1954 and
together they had 3 children: Vicki, Sandi and Randy.

Upon moving to Lake Havasu City in July of 1969, Del worked heavy
equipment and was hired to help excavate dirt out from under the London
Bridge. He later worked for the City in the water department and then
driving trucks for Highland Truss and later long haul trucking.

Del and his second wife Carol Grillo lived in Sonora California,
Yerington Nevada and later in Bullhead City Arizona. Del and Carol
shared 31 years together traveling in their RV visiting family and
friends including reunions with his Army buddies. Carol's untimely death
in 2013 brought Del back to Lake Havasu City. He enjoyed his morning
walks at Rotary Park and working on his many puzzles that he displays
throughout his house.

Del is survived by his daughters Vicki McCormack and husband Pat of Lake
Havasu City, Sandi Miller of Paradise California and son Randy Elder of
Victorville California, step daughter Christy Lindgren and husband Kevin
of Paso Robles California, step son Mark Grillo and his wife Cindy of
Roseburg Oregon, brother David Elder and his wife Carmen of Eagle Point,
Oregon and sister Anne Huffman of Island City Oregon. Also his
grandchildren Erica McCormick, Michael McCormick and his wife Sara, Jake
Miller and his wife Lindsay, Tyler Bobzien, Dereck Elder; Mitchell Toevs
and his wife Leanne, Natalie Wentworth and her husband Chris, Morrea and
Carlina. Then his greatgrandchildren Jacob, Shayna, Aiden, Ryder,
Brianne, Jacob Jr., Carolynn, Elizabeth, Emma, Connor, and Gabriel along
with many nephews and nieces.

Del was preceded in death by his first wife Darlene, Brothers Elden
Elder, Russell Elder, John Pat Miller, Sister Nadeane Heckert, his
second wife Carol and stepson Joe Grillo.

Private services will be held at the Hartley Cemetery in Williams Oregon
on Saturday August 13, 2022.
