| Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jul. 29 to Aug. 7, 2022 - Bullhead City, Arizona - It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Robert Paul Swartzman, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 73 years old, born December 15, 1948 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the second child of Jack and Berniece Swartzman. Bob grew up in Panorama City, California and graduated from St. Genevieve High School in 1967. After graduation, he backpacked throughout Europe and even went and watched "running with the bulls" in Pamplona, Spain. Upon returning to California, he began working as a truck driver at Triple-B Trucking. He married Denise Doty in 1972 in Newhall, California. They first made their home in North Hollywood, then Newhall, California. After the birth of their first two daughters, Stacey and Natalie, they moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1976 where he worked for Star Ready Mix, driving cement trucks. He has been a resident of Bullhead City, Arizona since 1979. During this time, Bob managed WMK and CSR ready mix companies. In 1982, they welcomed their third daughter, Valerie. Two years later, in 1984 he and Denise became the State Directors for the Arizona Cinderella Scholarship Program. They opened Dancer's Workshop in 1986. In 2002 he became a co-owner at Sunshine Concrete. This led to starting S&S Concrete & Materials in 2004 with his business partner, Mike Stone. S&S Concrete & Materials will continue to serve the Bullhead City community and surrounding areas with his family continuing this partnership. A humanitarian to the Bullhead City Community in many ways, he was heavily involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Colorado River and Los Matadors. Additionally, he worked on numerous growth and philanthropic projects throughout the community. When he wasn't working or volunteering, you could find him spending time with his family and friends, watching NASCAR on Sunday's, in his boat on the river, off- roading in the desert, in the pool, and spending time with his girlfriend, Jennifer Zalar, who brought so much joy in the last years of his life. His friends and family described him as being welcoming, always having a great sense of humor, happy, generous, kind, witty, hardworking and continuously wanting everyone to have a good time. Bob is survived by his three daughters, Stacey (Clint) Sanderson, Natalie (Brian) Carson, Valerie (Jarred) Hartford; siblings, Sharon Myers, Jane (Mike) Hemus, Gary Swartzman; ten grandchildren who will remember him as "Papa Bob", Jeffrey, Eddie, Julia, Ethan, Blake, Daxton, Connor, Kellan, Keely, and McCall; multiple nephews and nieces; the family dog, "Doty". He will be greatly missed by all. His Celebration of Life will be held at the Denise Swartzman Legacy Foundation Gymnasium on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Doors open at 12:30pm. 2250 Highland Rd., Bullhead City, Arizona 86442. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest, contributions be sent to: "Legacy Connection", to support youth programs in the community at PO Box 25560, Bullhead City, AZ 86439.
