| Published by Yuma Sun on Sep. 4, 2022 - Yuma, Arizona - On August 22, 2022, Patrick Santo Koepp passed into eternal life at the age of 35 in Yuma, AZ with loved ones present. Patrick was born in Manhattan, Kansas in 1987, and moved numerous times with his family due to his father 's military service, with his last move being to Yuma, AZ the summer of 2003 when starting his Junior year of high school. Patrick graduated from Yuma High School in 2005 where he played as a starter on the varsity football and basketball teams his Junior and Senior years. Patrick proudly served his country with distinction as a Solider in the United States Army and as a combat veteran serving in Afghanistan, and he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Patrick always displayed a great zest for life, and although his planned military career was cut short after five years due to disabling injuries sustained while serving his country in Afghanistan, Patrick continued to pursue his goals and inspired those around him through his continued accomplishments of his personal and educational goals. Patrick was a person of astonishing determination who enjoyed sports and weight lifting. Patrick earned Associate Degrees from Arizona Western College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration With Honors from Northern Arizona University, and before his untimely death was pursuing an additional Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Leadership at Northern Arizona University with plans to additionally pursue his Master's Degree from Northern Arizona University. Patrick's thoughtful and kind heart will be sorely missed by those who knew him, to include his very good friends Mark Longoria and Victor Terrazas. Patrick will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and many others whose lives he touched and were blessed to have known this outstanding young man, son, brother and father. Patrick is survived by his parents Patrick E. Koepp and Veronica R. Koepp (Sanfilippo), brother Spencer J. Koepp and sister Julie M. Koepp. Patrick is also survived by his sons Nathaniel D. Koepp (16), Patrick S. Koepp Jr. (7) and Matthew R. Vesa (12), and his daughters Caroline E. Koepp (9) and Naydean M. Miles (14); and by his nephews Christian R. Noriega and Noah S. Koepp, and his nieces Nina J. Noriega, Scarlett R. Koepp, and Isabella E. Koepp. A memorial mass will be held on September 9, 2022 at 10:15 am at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1815 S. 8th Ave., Yuma, AZ 85364, followed by a military honors presentation outside the church and then a Celebration of Life Gathering beginning at 11:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Disabled American Veterans Louis Levy Chapter 11, 954 S. 13th Ave., Yuma, AZ 85364.
